Founded 1989 by Oliver Sweeney; bought out of administration in June 2009 by Amery Capital (the Bennett brothers and Maurice Helfgott), and BGF invested GBP3.75m in 2015. The retail arm Oliver Sweeney Trading went into administration in July 2020 and the stores closed; Companies House filings show the brand company is now owned by Oliver Sweeney Group Ltd (PSC: BGF GP Ltd since April 2022, with CEO Tim Cooper ceasing as PSC), and the older holding companies were dissolved in November 2022.
