Modaes describes El Naturalista as part of The Art Company, controlled by the Quel footwear maker Invulsa; the project was started by the Sota family with Pablo de la Peña, whose commercial agreement Invulsa ended in October 2016. A 2023 BORME entry lists José Ignacio Sota Rubio as Invulsa's executive chairman; individual shareholders are not disclosed and the founding year was not confirmed.
